A Nap Exercise for Haydn

卓越在漳州 Bonbon Town 举办的第七期 Gravitational Body · Light Live Art 中呈现了声音行为作品《海顿的午睡练习》。

作品以“寻找海顿”为一个略显荒诞的出发点，通过竖笛、垃圾袋、蒙眼与一组可发声的按钮展开。表演者在看不见的状态下以手脚寻找散落在地面的按钮，并不断计数；随着动作持续，寻找逐渐变得焦虑而不可预测，身体、呼吸、偶然产生的声音以及现场空间共同进入表演。

作品的构思也受到 Bonbon Town 糖厂空间本身的启发。场地、声音与语言之间偶然形成的联系成为作品中一个没有被直接说明的小玩笑。竖笛则在演奏、呼吸与动作之间不断改变功能，最终被用来向垃圾袋中吹气。

在寻找“失败”之后，表演者停止行动，躺下“午睡”。作品以这种略带无厘头的方式回应海顿音乐中的幽默、意外与期待的错位。

Beginning with the slightly absurd premise of “searching for Haydn,” the performance used a recorder, a plastic bag, a blindfold and a collection of sound-producing buttons. Unable to see, Zhuo searched for the buttons with his hands and feet while counting each encounter. As the action continued, the search became increasingly anxious and unpredictable, bringing bodily movement, breath, accidental sounds and the surrounding space into the performance.

The work was also prompted by Bonbon Town’s former life as a sugar factory. An accidental connection between site, sound and language became a small joke embedded within the performance, left deliberately unexplained. Meanwhile, the recorder shifted between instrument, breath and object, eventually becoming a means of inflating a plastic bag.

After the obviously failed search, Zhuo laid down, and took a “nap.” Through this understated absurdity, A Nap Exercise for Haydn offers a playful nod to Haydn’s own use of humour, surprise and disrupted expectations.
